How to Create a Digital Product Using AI: A Comprehensive Guide for Instagram Creators

How to Create a Digital Product with AI

Are You Wondering How to Create a Digital Product Using AI?

Creating a digital product that sells on Instagram has never been easier, thanks to the power of artificial intelligence. In my previous blog post, I shared a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to create, launch, and market a digital product with AI. Today, we're diving deeper into the first step of that process: creating a digital product that will resonate with your audience and generate consistent income.

The first step in creating a digital product is brainstorming ideas & doing audience research!

In last week’s blog, I shared a super powerful ChatGPT prompt that I created with the goal of helping you brainstorm unique and out-of-the-box ideas for digital products that you can sell on Instagram. While this ChatGPT prompt is a powerful tool, here are a few other ways to generate unique product ideas:

  • Audience Feedback: Engage with your followers through polls in stories, Q&A sessions, and direct messages to understand their needs and preferences. Ask them what are they currently struggling with the most, what is their biggest desire at the minute, and what have they tried so far that hasn’t shown positive results for them. Use this information to guide your digital product creation.

  • Market Trends: Use tools like Google Trends or social listening platforms to identify emerging trends and hot topics in your niche. One easy way to do this is to type on Google a common question you get. Then scroll down to ‘People Also Asked’ and you’ll see other similar questions that people have been asking. This will help you a lot in outlining your digital product!

  • Competitor Analysis: Study what products other creators in your field are offering and find gaps or areas where you can offer something better or different. You can use Google Gemini to conduct competitor analysis in a more effective way.

  • Content Performance: Analyze the performance of your existing content. What topics or types of content that resonate most with your audience? Check your Instagram insights to find posts that have had a high number of saves. Were these step-by-step? Strategies? Frameworks? Can you expand on these to create a product?

Once you have a list of potential product ideas, the next step is to define the problem your digital product will solve.

Do NOT skip this step. It is crucial as it ensures that your product is relevant and valuable to your audience. Also, make sure to define a specific outcome that your product will help your audience achieve.

  • Identify the Pain Points: What challenges or issues does your audience face that your product can address? Use AI to dive deeper into customer avatar insights to understand their specific needs and preferences better. Tools like ChatGPT can help you generate detailed customer profiles and uncover hidden pain points.

  • Define a Specific Outcome: What specific result or benefit do you want your audience to achieve with this product? Clearly define the desired outcome, whether it's improved skills, solved problems, or enhanced knowledge. This will guide your development process and ensure your product delivers tangible value because at the end of the day, you are selling a transformation, not a product.

The next step is to create your digital product

With a clear understanding of your audience’s needs and the insights obtained from your brainstorming session and market research, it's time to design your product.

  • Outline the Structure: Create a detailed outline of your product. For example, if you're creating a mini-course, outline each module and lesson. There are plenty of AI tools that can help you with this, you can find a list in the next section of this blog.

  • Create Content: Develop the content for your product. Use AI tools like ChatGPT to help you write text, generate ideas, or even create scripts for videos.

  • Visual Design: Ensure your product is visually appealing. Tools like Adobe Express or Canva can help you design professional-looking templates, covers, and graphics.

  • Record your videos: If you are creating a mini-course, the next step is to film videos. For this, I would suggest you create face-less videos to make it easier for you and your audience to consume. This is basically you talking over slides or other visuals while teaching. For this, I suggest you use Loom, a tool that allows you to screen-record anything and they have an AI tool that will write titles, chapters, and descriptions for your videos.

Now, it’s time to test the product

Before launching, and if this is your first time creating a digital product, it's essential to test your product to ensure it meets your audience's needs and expectations.

  • Beta Testing: Offer your product to a small group of users for feedback. This initial group should represent your target audience to provide relevant insights.

  • Collect Feedback: Ask for detailed feedback on what they liked, what could be improved, and any issues they encountered. Use surveys, interviews, and direct messages to gather comprehensive feedback.

  • Refine the Product: Use the feedback to make necessary adjustments and improvements. This might involve tweaking content, redesigning certain elements, or adding new features based on user suggestions.

Now, let’s talk about AI tools to create digital products

Several AI tools can streamline the process of creating digital products. I’ve used most of them and they’re all really helpful.

  • The Leap: The Leap is an all-in-one creator tool that allows you to create and sell your digital products. They have an AI Assistant designed to help you create irresistible products! Think of it as having your own website and store and the best part? It’s completely free! Click here to get started with The Leap.

  • Stan Store: Similarly to the Leap, Stan Store is an all-in-one platform for selling digital products. They also have an AI assistant called Stanley that helps you brainstorm digital products ideas. Stan isn’t free and starts at $29/month. Click here to sign up for Stan Store.

  • Mini-Course Generator: An AI tool that Automates the creation of mini-courses by organizing content and providing interactive elements. It’s one of the most complete AI tools for course creation I’ve seen! Check it out here.
